Usage of Speed Profiles (TomTom) in ViaStat not in conflict with the Dutch Data Protection Act17 January 2012
Pursuant to Article 60 of the Wet bescherming persoonsgegevens (Wbp) [Dutch Personal Data Protection Act], the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Dutch DPA) [College bescherming persoonsgegevens (Cbp)] has initiated an official investigation into the processing of personal data with regard to TomTom devices made by TomTom N.V. (TomTom). In this concluded investigation is underlined that TomTom’s data sharing, int.al Speed Profiles, and other data to third parties , for example VIA.nl , does not constitute a violation of Dutch privacy law.

During the workshop an innovative new approach for improving road safety was discussed, an approach which can be implemented by all National Road Safety Organisations.

Road Safety Report System7 November 2011
The awareness of unsafe road traffic situations continues to increase. Local residents nowadays are showing an increased desire for the roads in their local area to be safe and are keen to have an active role in road traffic safety. In the Netherlands the national road safety organisation 'Veilig Verkeer Nederland' (VVN) and VIA.nl developed the Road Safety Report System
